2nd Line Application Support - Essex – £26k-£32k
2nd Line Application Support Analyst required to join busy IT support team in Essex.
In this exciting, fast paced 2nd line role you will be responsible for support and maintenance of a portfolio of applications and services used within this business. As a senior member of the team you will have a broad range of responsibilities including investigating and resolving issues and problems and you will ensure that applications are maintained at current supported levels. You will be responsible for pro-active problem management through the information system lifecycle and you will prioritise, document and determine root causes. You will also implement remedies to prevent future incidents and using your ITIL knowledge you will assist with the implementation of solutions and preventative measures. You will also on occasions stand in for the Technical Support Manager and will help mentor and develop more junior colleagues.
To be considered you will bring strong experience in an Application Support role in a MS technology environment where you have been responsible for both reactive and proactive resolution of complex problems. You will have an analytical and systematic approach to problem solving and will have a good knowledge and understanding of ICT concepts and architectures. You will also have knowledge of problem management and root cause analysis and will understand the principles and processes of implementing and delivering ICT services. Strong prioritisation and organisation skills are also required and you must possess good communication skills and the ability to work well with both technical and non technical stakeholders. People management/team leading skills are also desirable
- 2nd Line Support experience
- A good understanding of ITIL and the problem management process
- Strong skills in Windows Desktop/Server admin
- SQL Server admin
- Citrix VDI and Xenapp
Ideally you will also hold a relevant professional qualification e.g. MCSE / MCSA and will be ITIL certified.
Based in Essex, close to Colchester and easily commutable from Braintree and Chelmsford, the successful candidate can expect a salary of between £26k-£32k plus excellent pension, flexible working, subsidised canteen and free parking.
