This is the chance to join a renowned German Automotive Consultancy who are rapidly growing and can offer the Principal Systems Connectivity Engineer the chance for growth, progression, exciting technical work and the chance for international travel.

As the Principal Systems Connectivity Engineer working as part of the engineering team you will be responsible for defining the next generation of Automotive Connectivity, as well as contributing to the Company's continuing expansion and work with key stakeholders.

The Principal System Connectivity Engineer will work on the safety, security and connectivity aspects internal and external to the vehicle, all the while using a Systems Engineering approach on specifying Connectivity requirements, including Over the Air (OTA) updates.

Key Responsibilities:

᛫ Experience working with Over the Air (OTA) in an Automotive environment

᛫ An understanding and experience working with telecommunication technologies and support WLAN and LTE based (3G/4G/5G) developments

᛫ Vehicle, system and component level requirements management, decomposition and specification definition

᛫ Support key verification and validation activities on premise, or on client site

᛫ Conducting and updating benchmarks of competitor vehicles and systems

᛫ Coordinate cross-functional reviews to resolve technical issues

Requirements and Qualifications:

᛫ Experience in the Automotive sector is essential

᛫ Relevant degree or similar engineering qualification

᛫ Chartership preferred, but not essential

᛫ Knowledge of vehicle telematics and next gen communication technologies such as V2X (G5, DSRC, V2X)

᛫ Theoretical and practical knowledge on the use of application of telecommunication standards, specifications and technologies (IOT, LORA, WIFI, LTE)

᛫ Provide support for TCU/NAD/5G

᛫ Knowledge of regulation standards preferred, but not essential (SAE/ISO/ETSI)

᛫ Familiarity with authentication, encryption techniques and Public Key Infrastructure (PKI) environment

᛫ An Agile/V Model approach to working

᛫ Experience with Big Data technologies, such as C++, SQL, Python, Hadoop, Spark

᛫ Knowledge of cloud technologies, preferably AWS

᛫ Embedded programming knowledge beneficial

᛫ Experience working with change management tools, such as JIRA, SVN, GIT, ALM and PLM
