Applications Manager

Hands-on and varied Applications Manager role at a leading global SaaS solution vendor that is rapidly expanding.
 
This business needs someone technically savvy who can get to grips with a variety of business applications and systems, drive operational excellence and efficiencies and ensure availability.
 
This is a brand new role that reports directly into the CIO and you will be tasked with administering, maintaining and driving improvements to internal applications such as Salesforce, Netsuite, Office 365, Jira and video conferencing amongst others.
 
Day-to-day you will interact with stakeholders across the business from a variety of different teams, understanding their business issues, researching technical solutions and then planning and managing changes to applications & systems in a timely and efficient manner. This will range from simple things such as adding custom fields or workflows, writing JavaScript / SQL queries to pull information from different sources or integrating one application with another using a 3rd party / customised connector.  You will also act as an escalation point for internal service issues and will update documentation.
 
To date, the CIO has been hands-on in covering these responsibilities so you will get close mentoring but the freedom to devise solutions and tackle problems. With this being a new role there is a great chance to make a real impact here, take ownership of all internal applications & systems and make big improvements. 
 
To be considered you will ideally have a strong Application Support or Application Development background and will have a track record of being able to take off the shelf software and enhance it for a business.  You must have excellent problem-solving skills and a strong ability to pick up new applications and new technologies quickly.  Also required will be a good level of business acumen, an ability to understand what the various department stakeholders need their applications and systems to do and how you can drive improvements for them and their teams. Strong, confident communication skills and the ability to eloquently present solutions back to stakeholders is also a key skill required. In terms of technical skills:
 

- Strong experience supporting applications and systems in a distributed network
- Good knowledge and experience of supporting Microsoft technologies (Office 365, Sharepoint, Azure) & SQL databases
- Solid scripting skills in JavaScript, PowerShell
- Exposure to cloud platforms and solutions such as Salesforce and/or Netsuite is preferred
- An understanding of IT security
- Keen interest in researching new technologies

This role will initially be fully remote-based until next year, however, when safe you will work full-time from fantastic modern offices in East London.
 
The successful candidate can expect a salary of £40k-£55k and a range of excellent benefits including BUPA Medical, Dental, Gym and other perks as well as a discretionary annual bonus.
