Senior Data Engineer
 
Senior Data Engineer required to join a dynamic, fast-growing, award-winning Data Analytics team at a leading Financial Services organisation.

Day-to-day you will use your strong experience in SQL technologies to revolutionise data and analytics across the business and you will be working with a variety if complex datasets, designing new data solutions & developing new analytical pipelines. You will take ownership of and provide technical leadership to projects, mentoring junior team members and directing 3rd party resources and you will collaborate closely with various business stakeholders, understanding their problems and opportunities and translating them into data and analytical solutions.

To be considered you will be a Senior Data Engineer who has a proactive attitude and a track record of running projects and supporting & mentoring team members. Alongside these important soft skills, you will also possess a broad range of technical skills including:
 

- Strong Microsoft SQL Server experience
- Good experience of working in a DevOps environment with exposure to Agile, Scrum or Kanban methodologies
- Experience of Azure (or AWS)
- SSIS
- Experience of ETL tools
- Solid understanding of RDMS & DW methodology such as Kimball, Inmon & Data Vault.
- Detailed knowledge with some (not all) of the following languages & technologies: C#, F#, Python, Spark, Hadoop, R, Apache Kafka, Attunity Compose, Scala, Java, .Net, NodeJS, JSON, XML.
- Continuous Integration/Deployment experience such as Azure DevOps, Jenkins, Bamboo etc.

 
Exposure to Snowflake is also highly desirable but is not essential.  
 
This role offers a lot of flexibility.  If you want to work from home remotely this is possible as long as you can occasionaly visit the office on the South Coast (close to Portsmouth) where some of the team are based.  The team still get a lot of value in meeting f2f in the office to collaborate on projects, for training, etc. so once a week/fortnight is the expectation.  
 
In return, a competitive salary of £65k-£70k is on offer plus an annual bonus and a superb 12% non-contributory pension.
