Trainee Developer – Low-Code / Mendix
This is a fantastic opportunity to progress your career as a Software Developer into the exciting world of low-code development at a leading financial services organisation.
Low-code is a visual approach to software development that enables you to abstract and automate every step of the application lifecycle. Gartner predicts that “by 2024, low-code application development will be responsible for more than 65% of application development activity.”
This financial services business uses the leading enterprise low-code platform, Mendix.  Mendix was created to promote collaboration between Business & IT teams and is used by this business so they can design, build and unleash solutions faster to internal and external customers.
In this role you will get access to a structured 6-month training programme that will turn you from Mendix novice to Mendix Developer.  Working within the DevOps team alongside an established Mendix Developer as a buddy, you will get training and put on a pathway to achieving your Mendix Rapid Developer Certification.  Within 6 months you can expect to be working on projects and contributing to the build of innovative new applications, working directly with various business teams, technology teams, and experts to deliver enterprise-class solutions.
With the acceleration of this organisation’s digital transformation programme and Mendix expansion, you can be assured of a full pipeline of varied, interesting, and stretching work with which to build your skills and experience.
To be considered you must be passionate about Software Development and will have:

- Skills in HTML, CSS and JavaScript technologies (skills in other languages e.g. PHP, Java, .NET, etc. will also be considered).
- Good understanding of the software development lifecycle
- Exposure to Agile would be beneficial
- Excellent communications skills, enjoy problem-solving and be able to work under pressure in a fast-paced environment
- A Degree in Computer Science or related subject

This role offers lots of opportunities for home working with occasional visits to the offices in either Wiltshire or Hampshire (South Coast) for training, meetups, and team get-togethers but there is a lot of flexibility here. This company can also offer flexible working hours and a range of other family-friendly benefits.
A fantastic package is on offer with a salary of £25,000 to £35,000 (depending on experience) plus a 9% annual bonus and a 12% non-contributory pension. Other perks include discounted private medical, life insurance, gadget discounts and subsidised gym.
