AWS Engineer

This Tier 1 technology consulting firm is one of the largest AWS partners in the market and they are now seeking a number of talented AWS Engineers at a range of levels to work on high-profile, innovative projects in the Government and Defence sectors.

This is an exciting client-facing role where you will have the opportunity to get stuck into some big, challenging projects using the latest, cutting-edge technologies on the AWS platform, helping customers turn their cloud strategy into reality.

Day-to-day you will help design and deliver transformative cloud solutions, from migrating legacy applications onto AWS to building new cloud-native applications. You will aim to design and deploy secure and reliable applications on AWS full-stack, will assist with the implementation of AWS platform architectures and will build and configure code and IaC pipelines. This business has a culture where you will be well supported and will get access to excellent training and development, allowing you to become a true AWS evangelist and expert and take your career to the next level.

Given the nature of the clients that you will work with these roles will require you to either hold or be willing to undergo Security Clearance (SC Level). Therefore, to pass vetting you must be British and must have lived in the UK for the past 5 years.

To be considered you will need experience in engineering or implementing solutions on AWS using the following:

- Strong hands-on development skills in AWS across a wide range of AWS services
- Experience in developing IaC using AWS Cloudformation, AWS CDK or Terraform
- Hands-on experience with scripting ideally in Python, NodeJS or Golang
- Experience with container and container orchestration technologies, such as Docker, Kubernetes, ECS, etc.
- Good skills in problem-solving, debugging and root cause analysis

A certification such as the AWS Solution Architect, AWS DevOps, AWS Developer or AWS SysOps would also give you the edge but this company will support you in gaining these certifications as part of your ongoing development plan.

Based out of offices in Bristol, this role will see you split your time between your home office and occasional visits to client sites. You will therefore need to be flexible on travel.

An excellent salary of between £45,000 to £75,000 (depending on your level of experience) is on offer plus a superb benefits package which includes an annual bonus, car allowance (for more senior grades), contributory pension, private medical, life insurance, income protection, gym subsidy and 30 days annual leave. On top of this, there are numerous other health & wellbeing perks and a range of family-friendly benefits.

If you are an AWS Engineer, Platform Engineer, Cloud Engineer or SRE with the relevant engineering skills on AWS then apply for this amazing opportunity NOW.

If you are interested please apply ASAP. The People Network is an employment agency and will respond to all applicants within three - five working days. If you do not hear within these timescales please feel free to get in touch.
