Job Overview:
We are seeking a highly skilled and visionary Head of Software Engineering to lead our dynamic software development team. The ideal candidate will have a proven track record of successfully managing and delivering complex software projects. As the Head of Software Engineering, you will play a crucial role in driving innovation, implementing best practices, and ensuring the highest quality of software solutions.
Responsibilities:
- Leadership:
- Provide strategic leadership to the software engineering team, fostering a culture of collaboration, innovation, and excellence.
- Develop and execute a clear vision for the software engineering department aligned with the company's overall goals.
- Team Management:
- Recruit, mentor, and manage a high-performing team of software engineers.
- Foster a culture of continuous learning, growth, and accountability within the engineering team.
- Project Management:
- Oversee the end-to-end software development lifecycle, ensuring timely and high-quality delivery of projects.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to define project scope, goals, and deliverables.
- Technology Leadership:
- Stay abreast of industry trends and emerging technologies and guide the team in adopting best practices.
- Drive the development and implementation of scalable and secure software solutions.
- Quality Assurance:
- Implement and enforce best practices in code quality, testing, and deployment processes.
- Ensure the delivery of robust, reliable, and maintainable software applications.
To be considered you will need:
- Bachelor’s or master’s degree in computer science, Engineering, or a related field.
- Proven experience as a software engineering leader.
- Strong technical background with expertise in modern software development practices.
- Excellent leadership, communication, and interpersonal skills.
- Experience with agile methodologies and project management tools.
- Familiarity with financial technologies, banking systems, and security standards is advantageous.
In return the successful candidate can expect a competitive salary based on experience £110-130k depending upon experience. Alongside this the benefits package includes pension, private medical, dental and 25 days holiday.
